Quadriceps Responding

Finally today at physical therapy I was able to do straight-leg raises without any assistance. (Except for the electrical stimulation machine). The therapist also had me start doing partial squats. The partial squats were pretty hard. To do them, you stand in front of the table, and place your hands on the table for balance. Then you place your feet about shoulder-width apart, and keeping your back straight, bend both knees slowly and just a little bit. There wasn’t really any pain, my knee just felt really tight and it was a bit scary to do.

Electric Shopping CartAfter physical therapy we went to Lowe’s to get a replacement for our washing machine. At the front of the store they had some of those electric shopping carts for people that have trouble walking. It dawned on me that I was temporarily eligible to use one. It is an amazing amount of fun to drive one of these around the store. They don’t go particularly fast, but it beats walking across a gigantic store like Lowe’s using crutches.
